Database management and Fieldwork
I manage and develop MS Access databases used by the group. One for the great tit populations monitored around Seewiesen and recently one for the crickets studied at the LMU. It involves integrating new projects, improving the design to facilitate data entry and sorting, updating and tracking mistakes.
I use VBA programming, make queries (using MySQL), create forms and manipulate large datasets.
My second main task is the preparation and organization of fieldwork on wild great tit populations. From April to end of July, we collect data on their breeding ecology and in winter we catch birds roosting in the nest boxes.
